Going Green And Eating Clean
You are what the animals you consume, eat, you are what your plants absorb, and you are what you skin and respiratory system absorb. The Toxic Body Burden (TBB) is at its highest in the history of man and is one of the biggest issues crippling the health of so many people. Common heavy metals found in our bodies due to meat consumption are lead, aluminum, arsenic, and cadmium. 80% of all antibiotic supplies sold in North America are used on our animals mostly to keep them well enough s they can be sold for your consumption. You have heard the buzz around Genetically Modified Organism (GMO) as science has come so far the food industry has the ability to cross fish with tomatoes with no research to show how this will affect our health and what their experiment seems to be showing is that there are risk associated with chronic inflammation, not only with GMO’s, but with the heavy use of herbicides and pesticides. There are numerous toxins in everyday cleaning supplies like Clorox, Comet, Lysol to just name a few that are absorbed by our largest organ, our skin, not to mention your lungs. If you want to control the inflammation in your body and prevent disease, then it is important for you to consume clean foods and go green with your cleaning, bathing and make-up supplies.
We all know food, cleaning products, and supplements take a significant part of our financial budget so this is why I say that when you are going green and eating clean that you should ease into as you begin to require new items. As you start running out of dish liquid, laundry detergent, hand soaps, and other household cleaning items, start replacing them one by one with green items. There are many different brands that I like and use, such as Seventh Generation, ECOS, and Mrs. Meyers. Don’t forget that places like Costco’s has some of these products in bulk, as this is where I obtain most of my household items. The same concept should be applied for your food items unless finances are not an issue. I replaced each item with organic and kosher where possible. I have found that Costco has the most organic items around without having to go to Whole Foods or Trader Joes, which leave me feeling that I am breaking the bank. In my experience, spices are the biggest pain as you use these the least so there are many of these that I opted to donate and replace instead of waiting to use them, as I did not want to use them on my clean meats. My make-up took me a long time to change as well. Remember your skin is your largest organ, therefore you should choose wisely when putting cleaning, shaving, deodorants (these contain aluminum) and make-up products on your skin. There are very few true clean brands out there so do your due diligence before you replace these items.
I eat as clean and stay as green as possible. Eating clean is more of a challenge than using green products. Try doing business with green and clean restaurants. You can’t run from all toxins like the air we breathe, exhaust behind cars on the roadways, etc. so this is why my family and I use cellular cleanse support products, eat foods that are chelating and cleansing, we also have a rule to drink at least half our body weight in water and add lemon when possible as it is a great way to cleanse. Again, perfection is overrated so stay focused on progress and lessening your TBB.
Best Wishes with Going Green and Eating Clean,
