Why Mindset Matters

Your thoughts and words are your law! They breathe life or death into who you are, who you become, and how you show up in this world. By you changing your vocabulary, you can change your perspective of the world. If you can change your thought process, you will be able to see the true objectives of your goals which will allow you to obtain your dreams. Thoughts really do become things!

I highly recommend two books for your reading on this very topic. First book is "As A Man Thinketh", by James Allen and the second book is "Think And Grow Rich", by Napoleon Hill. These books changed my life and for everyone I recommend them to the feedback is always positive. Once you realize how important your words & your thoughts, then you have to get to unlearning behaviors and replacing them with new ones. I recommend the book "Breaking The Habit Of Being Yourself, by Dr. Joe Dispenza. Statistics show that humans hold 95% of the same thoughts day in and day out. This shows me that it is imperative that we make sure those thoughts are good ones.

Most people have this software playing in their mind called the inner critic. If your beliefs about yourself are not good, then you will go through life suffering. Even the rich can be miserable, money doesn't by happiness or fulfillment...doing what you love, having choices, and the freedom to do it creates these things. Your mindset has the capability to sabotage you and steal your dreams and frankly. steal your life...your contribution to this world.

The other day my oldest daughter, Isabella, told me that she knew that her thoughts matter, that she is recognizing how what she focuses on expands. This is an almost 9 year old. Unfortunately for me, I was older when I was introduced to this concept, however, we are never to old to change. It is not easy unlearning and relearning, but it is necessary for your own success. Your brain contains software you and other up until you were six years old uploaded and you need to assess your belief system about everything...your entire software and ask is this my belief or someone else's. This is so important because your beliefs influence your values and your values influence your actions.

A simple exercise today is this: find a car that you have always wanted...picture this car and put this as a backdrop on your computer, phone, etc. Watch how your brain goes to work to find this type of car on the street. It is like the "bug" or "beetle" game we played as kids. When you are looking for them and focused on finding that car, your brain finds them, but when you aren't your brain ignores them. Your brain wants to please you, but you have to put the right software in there for it to do so. Likewise, if you hold bad thoughts like I am not a good public speaker or you get anxious when you speak in public, your software will make sure you do not engage in speaking opportunities...those that might help get a promotion, etc. What you focus on expands whether positive or negative. So get to work minding your mind...mindset really does matter.
