Inflammation: The Real Culprit of Diseases

WHAT IS INFLAMMATION?

Inflammation is your body's response to stress. The stress can be triggered by something from your diet, lifestyle or environment. When you get a cold, you usually experience inflammation in the form of a fever as your body heats up to fight off the effects of the invading virus.

This kind of inflammation is good, but the modern epidemic of chronic, low-grade inflammation destroys the balance in your body. When your body's systems experience a constant inflammatory response, you become more susceptible to aging and diseases.

WHAT ARE COMMON CAUSES OF CHRONIC INFLAMMATION?

1. Environment: pollution and toxins in the air, water, foods.

2. Diet and Lifestyle: our food is genetically modified, ridden with pesticides, and nutrient deficient. We consume way too much sugar, not enough fats and proteins. Our macro and micro nutrient balance is off and we are an overfed, but undernourished people. We work long hours, sit too much and we aren't moving...yes, I know we all the lack the energy to move, but this starts with the food you choose.

3. Stress: Emotional stress is a big culprit as people are working longer hours and still with more month than money. Physical stress: as our bodies are chronically inflamed which means our immune system is engaged in overdrive 24/7...it gets depleted and eventually disease sets in and cancer in ever so rampant these days. More and more athletes are sustaining injuries as they do not have the muscle mass and skeletal alignment to keep them safe.

4. Low grade, chronic food allergies: There is a lot of speculation on why we have food allergies, let me just say that restoring your microbiome so that your body can protect you is the best way to avoid this issue. Likewise, go non-gmo and avoid glycophosphate like the plague. Focus on healing your gut.

5. Gut Imbalances: When you do not have the right flora( bacteria, fungi, yeast, viruses) in your gut that protect you this leads to many gastrointestinal issues which if not addressed can lead to many other health issues especially autoimmune. When you gut is not balanced, then it will cause your blood stream to be imbalanced...this is a vicious cycle which ultimately, leads to chronic illness/disease. Restore the microbiome.

WHAT ARE COMMON SYMPTOMS OF CHRONIC INFLAMMATION (Not All Inclusive...just some):

1. Chronic pain

2. Acid reflux

3. Diabetes

4. Heart disease

5. Candida

6. Urinary Tract Infections

7. Acne & other skin conditions

8. Wrinkles

9. Osteoporosis

10. Arthritis and other autoimmune disorders

11. Neurological Disorders

HOW CAN YOU PREVENT INFLAMMATION:

1. Restore your microbiome. My family loves to use Bravo Yogurt which we order from Europe at www.bravo-europe.com. You can also improve your microbiome by eating & drinking fermented foods like sauerkraut, kimichi, kefir, kombucha, etc.

2. Drink half your body weight in quality, clean water. Remember all water is alkaline. Some waters do have a higher pH, but outweigh the costs versus benefit. Just drink water...doesn't have to be fancy:)

3. Eat quality organic foods. I am not talking about expensive labled organic food. Find a local farmer who doesn't poison their foods with pesticides and buy from local. Remember organic was food without pesticides...it is orginal way before Monsanto came along. Make sure you are eating nutrient dense foods and a healthy balance of fats, proteins, and minimum less than 10% of your calories from sugars. There are sugars in fruits and vegetables learn the contents of these foods. Likewise, there are protein contents in vegetables eat those with higher protein contents.

4. Listen to your body and be your own food detective. If your joints ache or if your ears turn red when you consume a certain food, then it is highly likely you have an allergy to it so when you restore your microbiome your allergy should subside, but if not avoid or at least limit that food.

5. Go for a walk at least a 30 minute walk every day. If your goal is not to build definition and just have good health, then walking every day will be sufficient.

6. Vitamin D3 & Time in the Sun: Make sure you are getting a daily dose of Vitamin D3...everyone should be consuming this supplement. I use 10,000 i.u.'s daily and my kids get 6,000 i.u.'s daily.

7. Reduce Stress: Do yoga, meditation and prayer, walking, emotional freedom technique, and listening to music, and getting adequate, quality sleep are examples of things you can do to manage stress. Exercise with a trainer using proper techniques to prevent injuries and supplement so your body can rebuild lean muscle.
