Be aware of the people who are "Worried About You." Their worry is about their anxiety and control about you having the courage to commit to your dreams. Success has a way of showing people up who do not have the courage to live their dreams. - Jeffery Combs
If you have anyone in your life that is “worried about you” instead of celebrating your successes, then as you can see from the advise of my dear friend and mentor that this is a personal reflection upon the ones making these statements. When you start to overcome the lid of those around you and they are upset or worried, this should be affirmation that it is time for a new tribe. Time to find those that celebrate you and your success and this should be reciprocated. You should always celebrate those around you who are succeeding in life and obtaining their dreams.
Your environment has such a strong influence on who you are and who you become so chose wisely. Have you ever heard that you are the average of the five people you out yourself around or with whom you spend the most time? They shape you so when choosing your tribe make sure you chosse people who like to celebrate life and it’s wins. Find successful people who do what you love, model them, and persist until you have succeeded as well. Do not let “worried people” even if they are family steal your dreams. It takes courage to take risks and to go after your dreams and some people never find the courage to be bold.
As we grow as individuals, it is inevitable that you will outgrow your old tribes and even family members. Yes, you will continue to love, cherish past memories and relationships, and these folks will forever be a part of your life, just not as active as in the past. I don’t think anyone should forget their roots and we should always be willing to give a hand up, educate, and model for those who are willing to learn as this is called paying it forward. These folks may ask you why you are doing something right now, but later will ask you how you did it so always be kind as they too may be someone you leverage in the future and become part of your new tribe. Be vigilent and aware that there will be some who want to sabotage you or are too comfortable where they are that they will never support or celebrate your growth and success. These are the ones you should limit your time around so you can spend more time with those who encourage you, who you can model, and those who celebrate your courage.
