Monday, Monday

Did you go to bed yesterday dreading that tomorrow was Monday? Did you awaken this morning with a really bad attitude that it is Monday? Have you ever looked at the root cause of why you are so emotionally exhausted by a day of the week?

See it isn’t the day of the week at all. When you engage in a job/career that you dislike or that you are NOT passionate about, then it really feels like work in your mind. We all have choices, but like the definition of insanity says, you can’t keep doing the same thing, expecting a different result. It is time to reassess what excites you.

Ask yourself what excites you? What are you passionate about? See as we mature and experience this thing called life this what excites us and creates passion in our lives is subject to change as well. It’s ok to change directions and do different things and have entrepreneurial adventures that don’t match your degree. I had a nursing degree and climbed the corporate ladder in the wireless industry all because I was willing to learn the skills.

Peoples' ability to learn new skills and apply the knowledge is the difference between them thriving and not even being able to keep up with what day of the week it is without a calendar versus going to bed Sunday and waking up the next morning despising a day of the week. Monday is not your problem folks, it is lack of skills and sometimes courage to follow your dreams.

Where do your loyalties lie? Are you loyal to a career path that doesn’t serve you or your dreams? Or are you willing to step up and step out to follow your dreams? See I am not saying quit your day job; I am saying stay long enough while you acquire new skills so that you can walk away from what doesn’t serve you and start living again. Life is too short for everyday not to feel like a Friday.
