Freedom In Managing Your Emotions

I was listening to Alexis Panos via a webinar and she gave one of the best analogies in regards to lifes circumstances and our emotions. It was so simple yet so profound so I want to share it with you today as there is freedom in managing your emotions instead of allowing your emotions manage you. Alexis said, (I am paraphrasing) your body is the sky and our emotions are the clouds that come and go. These coulds are sometimes white and fluffy with rays of sunshine shining through or they are sometimes dark producing rain. She said to remember that the sky is constant and blue so it represents your body, since the clouds change they represent your emotions.

It is when we get outside our bodies that we lose control to our emotions. See the fact is that the body is physical and we can remain in control. Our emotions do not have to control us if we are willing to assess the situation and attach the proper meaning to it. Alexis was a rape victim, however, she chose to learn from the situation and use it to empower others, as well as, to move her forward in being her best. She acknowledged how traumatic and unlawful this act was, but she also said that no matter if your lifestyle attracted this or not that every person is in control and either choose to let the situation own them or they own the situation. This is what we call identity.

I have also learned from the great Tony Robbins that you can change your state in a matter of seconds which allow you to break patterns in your brain. This is so important as you train your brain how to please you and keep you in your comfort zone. The job of your subconcious mind which I like to call your self programmed software is to keep you safe according to what your beliefs are regarding your safety. Your own subconcious can sabotage you all because of the programming you have given it and our innate survival programming. Your subconcious mind does not know the difference between a tiger chasing you and if you are freaking out about having to speak in front of a crowd. It only knows that your BODY is reacting as if you are being chased by a tiger so your body goes into the fight or flight response. If we attach different meanings to events like talking in public, then we control our body by remaining calm and not going into that fight or flight state. If not, our subconcious gets programmed that talking in a crowd, making speeches are negative and it will prevent you from doing the very thing that could equal your success in the future.

Now, are you seeing how If we are not careful, we can have states like depression and other low vibrating emotional states become our identity? And this serves no one. Unfortunately, because you attract who you are you end up with a tribe of people just like you that you can vent to and feel comfortable around so that you don’t have to change. We are all human and its is in our innate nature to react out of survival, however, as we evolve out of the jungles so must our emotions. The fact remains that we are solely responsbile for all the situations and how we react to them in our lives and reacting in a low vibrational state is never right and I am not saying that you won’t have those moments of pity, sadness, guilt, etc. because you will, but I am saying that you can’t live there emotionally. Try attaching a new positive meaning to past or even present events in your life and see how your life changes. Keep doing this and you will find the land of promise and freedom as you will finally be free from that prison called your mind and you will have began programming a new software for your subconcious that serves you and will allow you to be successful and impact others lives.
