Consider the Lions

God closed the mouths of lions when Daniel entered the den. Lions are at the top of the food chain, powerful, mighty beast. All manners of life flee in fear when they hear the roar of the Lion. They are majestic, powerful and a force to be reckoned with; still, when the Father in Heaven commanded they close their mouths, they obeyed. Daniel was thrown into "their" den. The law of nature states they had every right to tear him apart and they would not have been in the wrong. But God desired His servant be spared and that the mighty lions relinquish their "rights" to do what HE created them to do. Sometimes, many times, in life we have the "right" to say something, to tear someone apart with our words, but I want you to consider Daniel in the lions den. God would not have been glorified if the Lions tore Daniel apart. However, because they obeyed their Creator, Daniel was spared and strengthen to continue his work for the Lord, and God's mighty power was revealed. The next time you have the "right" to tell it as it is, remember the Lions and their part in Daniel's story. Even if someone steps into our den, no matter how deserving it may be, it is better to let God close our mouths than to destroy another of His servants with our words.
