Planting Our Seeds & Being The Fruit

We hold the power of life or death in our words and our actions and this also goes for omissions. Connection one to another is a way of human life, however, these connections require being proper and balanced. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you want something for someone more than they want for themselves or have you ever found yourself in a situation where you have convinced yourself that no matter what you do or say it will not matter? I think if we are all honest with ourselves, then at some point we all have been in this positon. We have to remind ourselves that change comes from within and has to be desired by the indvidual, and not ony by the cheering squad. So what is our role in effecting change in others? Let's explore my favorite analogy of planting our seeds and being the fruit.

In reality, the only person we are truly responsible for is ourselves with the exception of infants and children as they do require our care until they are "of age" meaning being able to make responsible decisions by themselves. It is easy to get caught in the trap of pushing the rock uphill if you are trying to change someone else and we all know this is not effective so what is our role? Due to the fact that people can be at different stages in the learning process, you have to assess where they are and what seeds are required. See there are those who are not ready to learn and not willing to listen so our role is to simply be consistent with our actions and congruent with our words always being kind and encouraging. Remember people are always watching whether they are willing to actively listen or not. Secondly, you have someone who is willing to learn, but requires more information well you do the same as mentioned above, and you continue to share knowledge and experience to aid that person in meeting their goals and I call this stage loaning your belief stage. Oftentimes, lack of self - confidence is what causes procrastination and/orlack of action. When you loan someone your belief, the confidence gained allows them to reflect and think so they can begin to get to the do stage. Lastly, the person who is already someone knowledgable and confdent, you share with them what steps they require and follow up with them as they take each step...they take action.

We are all educators and we are all farmers in this journey of life. We harness the power to propel people to success or failure with every connection we make with people. There is a saying that "we make our choices, and our choices make us" while this is true we have to be aware of the influence our words, actions and the lack of both have on others. Before we go planting seeds, we have to make sure that we are the fruit of the seeds that we are planting...we have to be the change we seek in this world and in others. Always be planting seeds of positivity, love, growth, abunfance, joy, gratitude, and last but not least truth. In this ever so busy and rushed world we live in, it takes more effort to make sure we are making connections. After you make the connections, make sure you foster those relationships appropriately. Don't have any expectations, instead have faith in our God to add the increase and for the harvest to come at the proper time and have gratitude for life itself and the opportunity to fulfil our main purpose which is to be of service.
